In This World But Not Of This World

The whole world is going crazy—out of control

I feel pressure from friends and family who are being heavily influenced by the spirit of this world.

Lines of division are being drawn and loyalties are being sworn—us and them, right and left, right and wrong, darkness and light.

Isaiah 5:20-23 (NASB)

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;

Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;

Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes

And clever in their own sight!

22 Woe to those who are heroes in drinking wine

And valiant men in mixing strong drink,

23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe,

And take away the rights of the ones who are in the right!

In all this delusion and indoctrination of lies and deception, we are loyal to our King and He has promised us a Kingdom where righteousness dwells.

2 Peter 3:13 (NASB)

13 But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.

Our King is in Heaven and His faithful promise is that He will take us to be with Him where He is.

John 14:1-3 (NASB)

1 “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.

Romans 12:2 (NASB)

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

I don’t even know where to begin or what or how to write what I am thinking.

There really is a convergence of events and movements that are occurring simultaneously towards the fulfilment of Biblical prophecy.

Our observation of the events we are living through should alter the way that we speak to people about the Lord Jesus. We should react to all the things that are going on in a way that exalts the name of the Lord Jesus.

I pray for wisdom so that we can understand events in a way that will strengthen our faith and cause us to speak about the one true King who is coming to bring judgement and to establish His Kingdom of righteousness.

Daniel 12:10 (NASB)

10 Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand.

Revelation 22:10-12 (NASB)

10 And he *said to me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is near. 11 Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy.”

12 “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.

We should shine as lights in this dark and perverse generation and the light is Jesus who is the light of the world.

Philippians 2:15 (NASB)

15 so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,

John 8:12 (NASB)

12 Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

This is not so much a call to action because we are not to lean on our own understanding and we can do nothing by our own power.

This is a call to get close to the Lord, to be in communion with Him and to seek His will

Of course, this should always be our way of life; however, as we see these things happening we are encouraged to look up to the heavens from where we await a saviour.

Luke 21:28 (NASB)

28 But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

Titus 2:13 (NASB)

13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,

We are neither here nor there. Our kingdom is not of this world. We seek a city whose architect and builder is God. We are all sons of the New Jerusalem and in Her we have liberty, righteousness and eternal life.

John 15:18-19 (NASB) 18

“If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.

Galatians 4:26 (NASB)

26 But the Jerusalem above is free; she is our mother.

Hebrews 11:10 (NASB)

10 for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.

John 4:20-23 (NASB)

20 Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you people say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.” 21 Jesus *said to her, “Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.

We are in the world as strangers and pilgrims. We are ambassadors of Christ. We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

Matthew 5:13-16 (NASB)

13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men.

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

In these times people are seeking and asking questions

We are to be ready at all times to give an account for the hope that we have. We have an opportunity to explain that our faith is in Jesus and that in our heart and mind we cannot agree with post liberal, progressive ideas. We can also say that we do not entirely agree with the political right and that our Kingdom and our King is in Heaven.

His Kingdom will come and the kingdoms of this world will became the Kingdom of our God and of His Messiah and of His anointed ones and we will rule and reign with Him.

This is our expectation: His Kingdom will come and His will will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Amen

Daniel 7:18 (NASB)

18 But the saints of the Highest One will receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, for all ages to come.’

Revelation 11:15 (NASB)

15 Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying,

“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.”

Revelation 22:20-21 (NASB) 20

He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming quickly.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

21 The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.
